Questions parents ask
Is 11+ Activities really free?
Yes. Every activity on the site is free to use in the browser, with no sign-up, no paywall and no limit on how many times your child practises. The site is funded by the occasional affiliate link on our review pages, which never affects the practice content.
Which subjects and year groups are covered?
Four subjects: Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Each activity is labelled with the school years it suits — Year 3 through to Year 6 — so you can start younger children on the gentler pattern and vocabulary activities and move up to the stretch activities later.
How do the activities work?
Each activity gives you a short teaching introduction, then a handful of questions with four options. Answer one and you immediately see whether you were right, plus a written explanation of why. Your score is shown at the end and you can restart at any time.
How long should my child practise for?
Little and often beats long sessions. One activity takes five to eight minutes, and two or three activities in a sitting is plenty for Years 3 to 5. In Year 6, one timed session of about twenty minutes a day keeps the question types familiar.
Are these suitable for GL Assessment, CEM and ISEB 11+ tests?
The skills practised here — arithmetic fluency, careful spelling and punctuation, codes, sequences and shape puzzles — appear across GL Assessment, CEM and ISEB-style papers. Always check the exact format and subjects used by the schools you are applying to, as these vary by area.
Do the activities work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Everything is designed for small screens first, works offline once loaded, and needs no app to install. There are no adverts inside the activities themselves.
Can I check the answers are right?
Every question carries a written worked explanation — for maths you will see the full method, and for reasoning you will see the rule being applied. If you ever spot an error, email us and we will correct it.
